A Special Notice from the Bluebell Railway

22 March, 2012

Bluebell LogoDouble Donations Dash Opens for Business This Weekend

This is a reminder that our opportunity to double the amount put up by our major sponsors--the Double Donations Dash--is open from midnight this coming Friday, 23 March and remains open for exactly seven days until midnight on Friday, 30 March.

We have to match an amount up to 40,000. This can be done online by following this link: justgiving.com/Bluebell-DDD. Or by sending a cheque to arrive during (or post-dated for) the give week.

If you are eligible for gift aid, you can state this as you make a donation online, or alternatively the Just Giving page contains a downloadable gift aid form for those who wish to give by cheque, specially prepared for the DDD.

Our major sponsors have donated these funds following the great success of the Big Give Christmas Challenge, and they are specifically hoping their generosity will be matched by our many other supporters. This is another great chance to work alongside these major donors, and I do hope we can meet the challenge they have laid down.

Michael Grant--the only member of the original 1979 Northern Extension Committee present at a recent briefing--thanked our Infrastructure Director Chris White, Matthew Crawford, and all the NEP team, both professional and voluntary, for the very considerable effort they have all made in clearing the way through the last major obstacle on the extension to East Grinstead.

Said Mike, "Whilst we negotiated the original Light Railway Order, and planned the tip removal to satisfy the Public Enquiry Inspector and Minister, Chris and his team have executed it efficiently and cost effectively much as we had planned it. They have also dealt with the much more onerous legal requirements that now exist to bring it very close to reality. I thank them, and all who have worked on the project over the years."
