On the train to London a fellow passenger talked about a series of burglaries of “nice” houses in East Grinstead over the last few days.
As a little community they have compared notes and two common factors have been noticed:
The residents were “away” or on holiday
They had all been visited by some small children a little while before
The children were not all the same but around 9 years old, well spoken, and asking different questions and / or for different types of help.
Not sure what we can do about them spotting if a house is unoccupied at the time they knock but letting them in clearly might not be a good idea.
if residents spot children showing up it might be worth calling the police while they are out scouting....
